Equipment for the Skills Training Centre
We successfully graduated 20 students from our Skills Training Centre this year. To complete this initiative we need to provide tools and loans to the students to start their own small scale businesses, so they can help themselves and their siblings long term. Employment is scarce in Malawi, but there is a demand for their practical skills. We are seeking further funds for this project and would much appreciate any support offered.
Secondary School
Our secondary school has been opened since January 2008 now. For those who do not know education is not free in Malawi so this project is very important for the future of the children at Orphan Care Malawi as we now have the opportunity to provide free and high quality education to them. There is a lot more work to be done and we desperately need equipment, books etc. We greatly need further support and funding for this project. Any help would be much appreciated. We would also welcome any volunteers with teaching qualifications.

Road to the Orphanage
We are currently in the progress of building a suitable road through the village to the Orphan Centre in order to make it much more accessible to visitors, staff, children etc. It will also be a great help to the people of the village too. Further funding for this project would also be much appreciated.
Farm
We have acquired a new farm which we shall use to train our orphan headed house holds in agriculture techniques and also in animal husbandry. This will help the families support themselves and provide them with an income.
This will be supported by teaching the orphans to make cheese, yoghurt and other produce again helping them to be self sufficient.
College Fees
A number of secondary school pupils are sufficiently
qualified to go on to college but need to find the fees. We are currently seeking funds for these students. We are hoping to get 50 students to college this year. This is a very positive initiative as it allows us to offer a complete education programme to our children, giving them the best opportunities for success as adults and giving them the chance to repay some of the support they have had from the project. Each student needs to complete three six-month semesters to finish their course. We are seeking further funds for college fees and would much appreciate any support offered."
